More SmitFraud Spyware

Spylocked is the usual SmitFraud spyware, identified by pop-ups that try and convince you to buy an anti-spyware product. This is a dummy piece of software.

Use the Schrock Innovations guide to help you remove spylocked.

SpyCrush, another variant of Brave Sentry, will give you messages like:

“System has detected a number of active spyware applications that may impact the performance of your computer. Click the icon to get rid of unwanted spyware by downloading an up-to-date anti-spyware solution.”

This is an effort to get you to purchase dummy software. It’s strongly recommended that you follow these instructions to remove spycrush.

How to Remove Brave Sentry (BraveSentry) Spyware Infections Completely

April 18, 2007

This month I have seen a sudden increase in the number of people accessing our remove Brave Sentry tutorial on the Schrock website.

More than 1,500 unique visitors this month have accessed the tutorial, which is a lot considering that the spyware infection has been out there for at least a year now.

Newer variants of the infection, such as spylocked, have been released since BraveSentry, yet it dominates this month.

Be on the lookout, and if you see any small balloons saying you are infected with spyware, do not pay anything to anyone before you make certain that the balloon is not generated by a spyware program like Spy Locker, or SpySheriff.
